Titling - titling of the films i analysed were written over black for example Taxi Driver and Misery- and the color black connotates that the film may include sinister/evil characteristics which is common of a psychological thriller. Also both of these films titling were in the color red which connotates violence/blood/danger which are all incorporated in the film which signifies to the audience and to me that this is a convention of a psychological thriller which includes graphic displays of violence and blood e.t.c As my film incorporates violence/blood/danger i chose to use the font red to signify danger and blood and put the titling over black to signify evil/dark/sinister side of the movie.
Camera Movements - In the majority of the film the camera usually stays on the main character for the audience to be able either relate to him or to unsettle them with shots such extreme close-ups which is used in Taxi Driver for the audience to be unsettled by the extreme close-up of Travis Bickle's face. Or in the opening sequence we see a trait of the character as in Psychological thrillers the main character for example in American Psycho the audience see Patrick Bateman use extremely strong language and threaten with a bartender by describing a extremely violent attack- this connotates that Patrick Bateman will be the main character and also that we will similar moments further in the movie.
